FAQ

Straight answers for audio geeks. No marketing fog.

What formats do toPlugins support?
VST3 and AU on macOS. VST3 on Windows. We test in Reason and REAPER; other hosts that load standard VST3/AU plugins should work.
Which plugins are free?
toGain, toPass, toLyze, toWide, and toDel are free with a toPlugins account. No purchase, no trial timer — just sign up and download.
How do paid trials work?
Each paid plugin gets one 14-day trial per account. No credit card required to start. When the trial expires, audio processing mutes until you purchase or subscribe.
How many machines can I activate?
Paid plugins allow two simultaneous machine activations per license. Deactivate an old machine from your dashboard before adding a new one.
What happens when I'm offline?
Paid licenses use a short-lived JWT refreshed when online. You get 7 days on the token plus 7 days of offline grace (14 days total) before the plugin requires a refresh.
Can I use promotion codes?
Yes. Enter a Stripe Promotion Code at checkout, or apply one from the pricing page when that flow is enabled. Discounted checkouts still grant full entitlements.
How do updates work?
Plugins check for updates when you open the editor and on a daily background timer. Downloads require an authenticated account and valid entitlement.
Who makes toPlugins?
toPlugins is a product of TechOpt.io Inc. — sibling to the techopt.io blog and lab where we write about music production and audio engineering.
